Hello, I’m Samantha…

I’m nearly 50 (😱), married to Andy and we have two gorgeous girls.

We also share our house with our dog Beau and cats Dipper and Colin Robinson.

When I'm not photographing weddings I photograph our family, our pets and birds.

I haven't seen my natural hair colour since my teens and for the last few years my hair has been various shades of pink.

I also have a bit of a trainer addiction, Vans or Converse are my usual go to but for pure comfort it has to be Air & Grace (if I can get them in the sale or from Vinted!).

I love gin. My favourite gin is Nordes.

My favourite music is Saint Etienne, Abba, Jessie Ware and Pulp.

I collect fabric and sometimes I’ll even sew it

I love a bit of fancy dress.

I hate baked beans.

My style of wedding Photography

I have always loved photography and it's always been a part of my life and my family's life - I still use some lense that belonged to my Granny. I loved looking through my parents photo albums when I was little (and still do now) and taking photos when we were kids on holiday. I also took GSCE and A Level photography.

I'd never considered making wedding photography my job until meeting my husband and assisting him when he was doing wedding photography. He now teaches instead (www.andrewnewson.co.uk) and I have taken up the baton and I love it!

My style of wedding photography seamlessly blends understated, classic, timeless and modern elements, so that you get a beautiful portrayal and genuine reflection of your unique day. My aim is to blend into the background so I get lots of lovely, relaxed and natural photos of you and your guests.

I will of course make sure I get the shots that everyone wants; walking down the aisle, the kiss, speeches, first dance and a confetti shot (if you’re allowed it). Then it’s all the moments in-between; the little looks, sideways glances, kids being kids, adults being adults, all those great little moments that make your big day so special.

Whilst the majority of the photos will be candid shots, I will of course do some group shots - some of these can be ones requested by yourselves and some I will capture when I find little groups of people naturally standing (or sitting) together. I think it it can make a much nicer, less posed (or maybe forced is a better word) portrait if you ask people who are having a chat or catching up if you can get a quick group photo. Gives them less time to think about their smile or hand position!

Also I like to spend a little bit of time with you two, as it is nice to have a few (or a lot) of the newly weds in their finery on their wedding day. I promise not to keep you from your guests for longer than you want though.

I am LGBTQ+ and disability friendly (although I don’t currently have any portfolio to show this, I hope to soon.)

I love landscapes too and try an include a dramatic scene or two in my wedding photography if possible.
