A summer wedding at The Gardens, Yalding

A beautiful July wedding at The Gardens, Yalding near Tonbridge.

I was delighted to be asked to photograph Deana and Andy’s wedding at The Gardens in Yalding near Tonbridge. It is such a beautiful location, the grounds are just stunning. And with the weather we had on that day it was just perfect! Deana, her best lady and her daughter bridesmaid had their hair and make up done by the ever expert Louise Large

Deana’s wedding dress was from Meryl Bridal in Crowborough who I highly recommend you visit if you are looking for your wedding dress as she has some amazing dresses and is also a lovely person who will help you choose the perfect dress.

I can genuinely say that the speeches were some of the funniest I have heard at a wedding (and I have heard a lot!) and the food was great!

I would love to photograph another wedding at The Gardens as I feel there’s more grounds to explore for portraits . Also when it’s darker the gardens will look lovely lit up with all the festoon lights so get in touch if this is your venue!

A winter wedding at The Ravenswood, East Grinstead

A sunny winter wedding at The Ravenswood, East Grinstead.

Well this wedding wins the shortest amount of time between booking and wedding day!

Louisa and Daren’s original photographer came down with the dreaded covid just 3 days before their wedding. I received a slightly panicked phone call on the Wednesday morning and a couple of hours later these two were all booked in and I had another wedding at the Wonderfull wedding venue The Ravenswood in East Grinstead.

That week (last week of November) the weather had been pretty wet to say the least. However on their day the sun shone and it was like autumn not winter!

Louisa and Daren’s main aim of the day was to ensure that everyone enjoyed themselves and it certainly seems they did! The singing waiters were a big hit and the Bestman’s speech was genuinely very funny.

The bridesmaids wore a mixture of blue and green dresses and Louisa’s flowers were a beautiful pop of colour (from Bloominati Florals) so vibrant.

That’s two winter weddings now at The Ravenswood. I would love to photograph a summer wedding there so if you are planning a wedding at The Ravenswood please get in touch!

Helen & David, Buxted Church and Hendall Manor Barns, Uckfield

Helen and David’s wedding at Buxted Church and Hendall Manor Barns, Uckfield,

Helen and David found me through my husband Andrew as Helen had had a photography lesson with him.

When I heard about their plans which included a gin bar at Hendall Manor Barns, well I was delighted that they chose me to photograph their special day!

It was a lovely sunny day in August. Although I had been past the church a number of times I had never actually been in, it is most impressive inside. Helen walked down the aisle to her niece singing, accompanied by her partner on the organ, they are both very talented.

After the service and some group photos it was on to Hendall Manor Barns near Uckfield. As usual the place looked lovely all set up and the staff were brilliant.

We opted to do couple’s photos after the meal (which was delicious) as it was still very hot and sunny. We spent a bit of time wandering round the beautiful grounds of Hendall before heading back in for cake cutting and first dance. The the band got everyone up on the dance floor dancing.

I left before the paella was ready but it looked amazing. As did the setting sun as I drove back home.

Some of the amazing suppliers involved in this lovely wedding were…

Church - St Margaret The Queen, Buxted https://www.bhdchurches.co.uk/st-margarets-2/

Reception Venue - Hendall Manor Barns, Uckfield https://www.hendall.co.uk

Bride’s dress - Meryl Bridal, Crowborough https://merylbridal.co.uk

Rings - Delevingne Designs https://delevingnedesigns.co.uk

Cake - Harriet Tasmin https://www.harriettamsin.com

Caterers - Elizabeth Canton https://www.elizabethcaton.com

Band - Party Up https://www.functioncentral.co.uk/band/party-up

If you are planning on getting married at Hendall please get in touch as it is one of my favourite venues!

A look back at 2022

A look back at 2022.

As we hurtle in to 2023, leaving 2022 behind, I thought I’d have a quick round up of my weddings, engagement shoots and family events from the year.

If you want to have a closer look here’s my all stars gallery in date order. And yes it is very hard to pick just one photo from each.

My Bucket list

My dream weddings

My Bucket list

I’m sure most photographers have a dream list of wedding venues and/or types of weddings they would love to photograph and I’m no different.

A beach wedding

Top of my list is definitely a beach wedding! It doesn’t have to be a beach wedding abroad (although that would be lovely too), I would love to do some couples photos on Brighton Beach.

Brighton wedding

And whilst we’re on the subject of Brighton…

Any of those would be a dream location for me.

You might expect me to have Brighton Pier on that list but I have already experienced a wedding on the pier - my own!

A wedding at a festival

Moving on from Brighton, a festival wedding - I mean a wedding at an actual festival (I have already photographed an amazing festival style wedding). How fab would that be?! Have the wedding then celebrate watching loads of live music! I’m not fussed as to which festival, Glastonbury would of course be amazing but I have always fancied Latitude too.

A wedding at a castle

I have photographed a wedding at Wadhurst Castle but would love to do one at a really big, historic castle and Hever Castle is definitely top of my list.

A wedding at London Zoo

I’m a big fan of dogs at weddings and what is one step on from that? A wedding at a zoo! I’d love to do some couple’s portraits with the amazing animals at London Zoo in the frame, especially the big cats (tigers are my favourite).

A gin distillery or vineyard wedding

I’m a big gin fan - and I’m also partial to a wine or 3 so a wedding in either a gin distillery or vineyard would be brilliant as long as I get to sample the produce! (After I’ve finished working of course.)

So fancy your wedding reception at Bombay Sapphire Distillery in Hampshire? Or maybe at The Distillery in London, home to Portobello Road Gin? If so then I’m there with my camera!

Here’s a couple of photos from a styled shoot I organised at Downsview Vineyard in Crowborough which hosts weddings and has a glamping/camping area for you and your guest to stay in.

So are you planning a wedding at any of these places on my list? If so get in touch! I’d love to be able to tick some of these off.
