Saturday 25th April - Crowborough Country Park

Nearly at the end of April and yet to start my project (bar a couple of butterflies in a garden in Porto, not sure they count). So I thought I’d better start and as it was a nice sunny day I decided just to have a wonder around the Crowborough Country Park which is 5 Mounties walk from our house. It used to have a big buddleia bush and I wasn’t sure if it was still there. If it is I thought once that is flowering it will be a great magnet for butterflies. Well there does still seem to be a buddleia bush there but not where I remembered. There were quite a few butterflies, not many that settled and the ones that did I struggled to focus (I was using my Fujifilm XT5 and the 70-300 sense. I had the teleconverter on it too but took that off to see if it helped but no. Anyway it turns out I don’t need a different lens, I just needed to flip the focusing switch on the lens which was on 500 to infinity (I’m not sure what it means either but it is now focusing much easier so all good!) Plenty of birds song captured, The robins were always happy to be photographed and I have one of a mystery bird, any ideas?

I will return to the park as it is a good practise ground and it’s nice and close!
